Went to a The Weeknd concert recently and was inspired by his performance. Also, I recently watched a live stream from Adobe where they were creating a vinyl cover. So I decided to give it a try.
When deciding how I should design it, I took inspiration from The Weeknd's previous albums. I noticed that he mostly features himself on the cover, without much lettering, and if there is text, it's usually the name of the album. It's worth mentioning that The Weeknd never puts his name on the album covers, which adds to the allure, as his fame speaks for itself.
Keeping that in mind, I started to look for a self-portrait. I chose one from a previous photo session where I did my makeup for fun. I was searching for a picture with an ominous look. Since I had no specific title in mind, I decided to use the phrase "the setlist" and write it in numbers.
The colors I chose depended on the editing of my picture. I opted for a red-pink hue that wasn't too aggressive but still maintained a feminine touch.
